ECHA Adds 6 SVHCs to Candidate List
 
The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has recently added 6 Substances of Very High Concern (SVHCs) to the Candidate List. Now, the number of substances on the Candidate List is 197.

Suppliers of articles that contain these substances in a concentration above 0.1% (w/w) have to provide sufficient information (including the substance name and its content) for the safe use of the article to their customers, or upon request, to a consumer within 45 days of the receipt of the request. Producers and importers of articles containing any of the substances in the Candidate List will have six months to notify ECHA if (1) the substance is present in those articles in quantities over one tonne per producer or importer in a year, and (2) the substance is present in those articles above a concentration of 0.1% (weight by weight).
