EU Commission amended Annex XVII of REACH on Feb-13-2013 - (EU) No 126/2013

On Feb-13-2013, EU Commission published Official Journal of COMMISSION REGULATION (EU) No 126/2013 to amend Annex XVII to Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH).  This Regulation shall enter into force on the twentieth day following that of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.

The amendments are related to (Our Summery):

1. Appendix 10 of Annex XVII, adopted harmonised standard for Azocolourants determination.

New Harmonized Standard for Azocolourants:

EN ISO 17234-1:2010 Leather - Chemical tests for the determination of certain azo colorants in dyed leathers - Part 1: Determination of certain aromatic amines derived from azo colorants

EN ISO 17234-2:2011 Leather - Chemical tests for the determination of certain azo colorants in dyed leathers - Part 2: Determination of 4-aminoazobenzene

EN 14362-1:2012 Textiles - Methods for determination of certain aromatic amines derived from azo colorants - Part 1: Detection of the use of certain azo colorants accessible with and without extracting the fibres

EN 14362-3:2012 Textiles  - Methods for determination of certain aromatic amines derived from azo colorants — Part 3: Detection of the use of certain azo colorants, which may release 4-aminoazobenzene 

2. Entry 6 of Annex XVII, Asbestos fibres

3. Entry 16 of Annex XVII, Lead carbonates

4. Entry 16 of Annex XVII, Lead sulphates

5. Entry 28-30 of Annex XVII regarding to EC No. 1272/2008, the substances of Carcinogen, Mutagen & Reproductive Toxicant Categories.

6. Entry 42 of Annex XVII, Alkanes (EC No 287-476-5/CAS No 85535-84-8) is deleted.

7. Entry 47 of Annex XVII, adoption of CEN method for determination Chromium VI compounds used in Cement & cement and cement-containing mixtures
